The Schlage M450 is used as part of an electronic access control system usually combined with request-to-exit devices and credential readers. Standard features include automatic voltage selection, field-selectable handing, and bayonet mounting bracket for easy hands-free installation. The "Plus" model adds intelligent sensing and reporting features needed for integration with access control systems.

- Includes magnetic bond sensor (MBS), adjustable relock time delay, and door position switch
- Optional ATS/LED combines anti-tamper switch (with reporting capability) and with an LED visual status indicator of the magnetic bond at the lock
